Your account and billing
How an account comes to exist, what the Pro subscription covers, how credits are charged and bought, and how to secure or close the account. The numbers on this page are also on the limits page.
Signing up
- Go to /signup and enter an email address and a password. A display name is optional. Passwords need at least 12 characters with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, a digit and a symbol. Disposable email domains are refused.
- Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. When either
document changes later, you are asked once more at
/account/termson your next visit; the SDK and API keys are never interrupted by that prompt. - Enter the verification code sent to your email. You cannot sign in until the address is verified; Resend sends a fresh code.
- Your account gets a personal workspace the moment it exists. Everything you make lives in a workspace; see Workspaces.
The Pro subscription
Neural Studio is a paid platform: every account needs an active Pro
subscription. After your first sign-in you land on /account/subscribe.
- Pro is $29 a month. It includes 1,000 compute credits each billing cycle, a 250 GB storage pool shared by all your workspaces, up to 10 workspaces, and per-minute GPU and CPU compute at the live rate card.
- Tick the renewal terms and the Terms checkbox, then press Continue to payment. Payment runs through Stripe Checkout; once it is confirmed you are taken to the dashboard.
- Until you subscribe, the account can only subscribe, manage billing, delete itself and sign out.
- Cancel any time in Settings, under Billing, with Cancel subscription. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and Resume subscription undoes the cancellation before then.
- When Pro ends, every runtime you started is stopped, the cycle's included credits expire, and top-up credits you bought stay in your balance. Your workspaces and files are kept and your storage pool is unchanged. Resubscribe on the subscribe page picks up where you left off.
- If a renewal payment fails, the cycle's credits are not added. Settings says so and offers Update payment method, which opens the Stripe portal; nothing else about the account changes.
Credits
- $1 = 100 credits. Every machine in the launch picker shows its rate in credits per hour, and the rate you see is the rate you are charged.
- Compute is billed per minute from the moment a runtime is
runninguntil it stops. Provisioning time is never charged. The person who presses Start Runtime pays, whichever workspace the runtime belongs to. - Environment builds cost 1 credit per minute of build time, failed builds included. Transfers from storage connections are free. Storage is part of the pool and is not metered separately.
- The launch gate. A launch is admitted only when your balance covers at least two minutes of the chosen machine at its current rate. When the balance reaches zero, a sweep that runs every minute stops your runtimes with the reason "Out of compute credits".
Buying credits
Settings, Billing, Add credits sells top-up packs on top of the subscription's monthly credits:
| Pack | Credits |
|---|---|
| $5 | 500 |
| $10 | 1,000 |
| $25 | 2,500 |
| $100 | 10,000 |
Packs are paid through Stripe Checkout, are valid for 12 months, and are only sold to active subscribers. Purchases are final.
Spend controls
In the same Billing tab:
- Monthly spend cap (credits) is a hard ceiling on what a calendar month may consume. Once month-to-date spend plus the two-minute launch runway would exceed it, launches are refused, and a running runtime is stopped as soon as its next charge would cross the cap.
- Low-balance warning (credits) never blocks anything: a banner appears on every page once your balance drops below it. The default threshold is 200 credits.
- History lists every charge and grant on the account, and Storage pool shows how much of the pool each of your workspaces holds.
Profile and security
- Profile. Your Display name is yours to edit. The @handle is optional and permanent once chosen; if it ever has to change, contact support. Your email address is shown only to you and cannot be changed from the app.
- Two-factor authentication lives under Settings, Account. Confirm your password, scan the QR code with an authenticator app (or type the setup key), and enter the 6-digit code it shows. From then on every password sign-in asks for a code. Turning two-factor on or off signs you out everywhere. There are no recovery codes, so keep the authenticator safe.
- Forgot your password? /forgot-password sends a reset code to your email; enter it with a new password on the reset page.
Deleting your account
Settings, Account, Delete account shows What will be deleted before it asks you to type your account's email to confirm:
- the workspaces you own, with every notebook, file, run and environment in them;
- your share links, your analytics profile and your sign-in;
- in workspaces other people own, what you made there stays with that workspace.
Billing records are kept for seven years, as the law requires. Deletion happens after a 14-day grace period; until then you can still sign in and cancel it from Settings with Review or cancel.
